A summer with Hewitt
If you're still a student, but are keen to get a taste of the Hewitt experience before you've completed your studies, then our intern programme is for you. Not only will you gain invaluable hands-on experience at the heart of our company, you could earn yourself a place on our graduate scheme in the future.
If you've started at university you can apply to join our full summer intern programme.
Our well established and popular summer intern programme lasts for ten weeks beginning at the very end of June. The length and content of the programme enables us to really get to know you. Equally as important, it gives you the chance to see if you like us and the work we do for our wide range of clients. Of course, you will be paid well for your hard work and if all goes well you could be offered a graduate position for the following September, or further intern work if you still have some time to go at university.
We're also happy to hear from people who will have completed A levels and are looking to briefly experience what we do before starting university.
During the internship you'll be assigned to a team and be fully involved in preparing calculations, information and advice for our clients and other team activities including social ones. You'll also be given a team project to complete throughout the ten weeks which will provide you with an opportunity to work with interns from our other locations.
"I would definitely recommend the summer intern programme as a way to 'test the waters'. Actuarial work is not for everyone and one summer is an ideal length of time to gauge whether a career as an actuary is right for you and whether you are right for a career as an actuary." Liam Mayne, a 2004 summer intern. Currently working in our pensions actuarial services team and recently qualified as an actuary.
