Corporate Social Responsibility
Our findings reveal that corporate social responsibility is an emerging and important component to a companies brand and to graduates when seeking their employer of choice.
Corporate and Social Responsibility is a broad term refering to a company’s ethical responsibility to the social, physical and business environments in which it operates.
Being a socially responsible firm is built on relationships - with our clients, investors, employees and communities. We have a special interest in helping people in the commuities we serve. We do so with a focus in the areas of Human Services and Education.
So what does this mean to you? Examples of how you may get involved with socially responsible activities include;
- Fundraising - in the past teams of employees have been involved in a number of activities including Charity quiz nights and Dragon boat races.
- Dress down Days - as part of local fund raising initiatives for local charities or as part of national campaigns such as Genes for Jeans.
- Partnering with Schools - to offer time to read with pupils or participating in a decorating or gardening project.
- Taking on a school governor role
- Working with a community group this could be youth, church based, Scouting or Guiding based to name a few.
If you want to participate (and there is no obligation for you to do so) you will be supported by your manager. Associates who participate in socially responsible activities get a huge amount out of it personally.
Hewitt has also provided grants, donations and matched contributions made to organisations through the Hewitt Community Trust.
In addition we believe we have a responsibility to take responsibility when it comes to taking care of the earth. Hewitt UK’s environmental policy is based around the need for the firm to effectively meet client and business requirements, whilst recognising that it is in everyone’s interest to make prudent use of resources. That’s why, among other things, we support recycling and limit our use of heating, lighting, and air conditioning outside of core business hours and we encourage associates to manage travel arrangements by using the most efficient form of transport available.
