Leeds
Leeds has undergone a stunning transformation in recent times. Its imposing Victorian buildings have been restored and modern architecture has come and joined it. it The city has been enjoying a renaissance for more than a decade now and is well established as a thriving financial, commercial and cultural centre.
The presence of a large student and graduate population means it offers a host of activities and legendary nightlife, including hundreds of pubs and bars, some of the best clubs and venues in the country, a thriving music scene, and a full range of theatres, cinemas and restaurants. Shopaholics can explore a huge variety of enticing options, including the talismanic Harvey Nichols. The city centre has also become a place of choice to live with the creation of thousands of modern apartments that tempt many of our employees to remain in the city day, night and weekend.
For the more open-air minded, Leeds is also said to have more parkland and green space than any other city in Europe. Also less than an hour away you are in some of the jewels of the English countryside, like the Yorkshire Dales or the Peak District. Ilkley, Harrogate and York are as well known to tourists and as homes for our some of our consultants.
The Hewitt office is located in No1 City Square (above), one of the most photographed buildings in the city centre. It is right in the heart of the city and only two minutes’ walk across the Square from the mainline station, that also provides commuter routes to many of the suburban and rural commuter towns and villages.
The office, our smallest at around 60 people, has an amazing buzz, perhaps helped by a strong social and sporting calendar, but mainly the fun and friendly nature of the people in the office. New recruits, clients and colleagues from afar regularly comment on the friendly and helpful welcome given by all in this small close-knit team.
